The 36th Annual SCAAP Conference preparations are well under way. Registration and speaker information will be on line in August. Conference will be held at Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Anaheim. Dates are October 20-22, 2016. The Hotel is within walking distance to Disneyland so you can bring your whole family. The Conference theme is “The Magic of Activities”. To receive the conference discount on your hotel registration you must make a reservation by September 20th.
We are again holding a Program Cover Contest. If you wish to enter please submit your cover design including: the SCAAP logo, SCAAP 36th Annual Conference, Dates, and the Hotel name to Laurie Kjar, see board list for contact information. The prize will be $50 off your personal conference registration. Deadline is September 1st.
Volunteers for Conference. We are always looking for room hosts, silent auction assistance and raffle ticket sellers. If you wish to help please let me or any other board member know. We are also looking for silent auction and raffle prizes. Let the board know if you or your company would like to contribute.
Awards: Please think about recognizing your fellow professionals at the Awards dinner during Conference. See specific information on the website under Awards. Nominations are open for Activity Professional, Activity Assistant, Director of Nursing, Administrator, Volunteers, Activity Consultant/Educator and of course yourself in the Scholastic Achievement Award. The last category is the only one that you can self nominate.

The position of Nominations – Election Chairman is open on the SCAAP board. We need your assistance in finding someone who will contact SCAAP members and encourage them to run for an office on the SCAAP board. Positions open for election in the fall are: President, Vice-President, Director of Resources, and Director of Professional Development. Let me know if you are interested in any of these positions so you can start shadowing the current officer soon.
